I have a 2000 f250 crew. Has a "shudder" in the drivetrain when starting from a dead stop under heavy acceleration. Slow accel or normal cruise it is ok. No noises (internal or external) just a vibration. I did a search and found a "tsb #16915" and a NHTSA bulletin # 10002626, but can't find any details on these.
Anyone have insight to this problem?
Looking for advice on same problem... buddy told me the Dealership has a bottle of gunk to put in differential housing to cure shudder in limited-slip rear ends?
Almost sounds like a torque convertor. Do you have computer chip. I noticed some shuddering under heavy accleration from a stop, i now have BTS trans and torque convertor and now have no shudder.
Just a Thought. Some times you can get a shudder if you have lifted your truck and the angle on the carrier bearing is not correct. Had the same problem when towing my travel trailer and re-shimed the carrier to get a better angle and it went away.
Think I may have found it. Rubber supporting the driveshaft carrier is "loose" in the housing, easy to move the shaft around by hand. Tried to replace it this weekend, but even with an impact wrench I couldn't get the yoke nut loose. Tight sumbich!
Gonna take it to my nephew's work (car dealer) and get it done this week. I will let you know how it turns out.
As far as the front bumper question, it was on the truck when I got it. Beefy ****, for sure.
