There has been a lot of topics regarding cold starting for the 6.9 or any diesel.
What i was thinking is what would stop some guy from just running a drier element on either side of the intake manifold. Some thing like that could heat the air quikly and efficiently. It wouldnt replace glow plugs but i think it would help.
Anyway it was just an idea i had. Any suggestions/ideas would be great.
Many engines have nothing more than a heater coil in the intake to make them start. Some also drip diesel on the heater which then burns and makes it even hotter. It will work fine, some folks have used a hair dryer, but the trade off can be rough starting and idling, and restriction of the intake.
