e40d searching and vibrating
I just replaced my e40d with a unit from the yard that was supposed to be good
. It ran good for a while but now it's vibrating and searching for gears. Any advice before I have it rebuilt or attemt to rebuild it myself,OBTW has anyone done a DIY rebuild on one before and if so any advice.

Its going to be expensive to get rebuilt, my opinin is have a shop do it. My uncle tryed doing it and he ended up getting one from a jusk yard and have a shop rebuild it, there are lots of little things in there. As for mine, it cost $2100 for a rebuild and new torque converter and big cooler. My tranny was doing the same thing as yours. If you do it your self and don't get it back together right, then your ***** out of luck , but with a shop they have to get it right, and they almost always have a warrenty.
