BW13-56 transfer case specs

I am going to be searching the local junkyards for a transfer case for my 1987 F-250 4x4, 6.9L diesel. My question is, are all 13-56 t-cases compatible, or are there different spline counts on the input or output shafts? Any ideas on what other applications would fit, say a F-150, F-350, or maybe a Bronco? I currently have a C-6 bolted to it.

adelyser,

I've also been looking for a replacement 1356 for my '89 F-250 7.3L. From what I've been told, the 1356 was used in the F-150, F-250, and F-350. I'm not sure about the Bronco, but it would stand to reason that the 1356 would be found there, too.

The main differences appear to be whether the case has mechanical shift linkage or electric shift, and whether the output shaft has a slip yoke or a fixed yoke. I haven't heard anything about different spline counts, but I'm on the learning curve, too. Used cases here are running $300-$350 exchange. I found one on ebay from an '89 F-150 with 87k on it (so the story goes) for $175.

Good luck.

My Bronco has an electric-shift 1356, with the fixed yoke. I do need a slip yoke. The local Pull-N-Save gets them all the time, and they go for $68. I was there this weekend, but all they had were the older NewProcess cases and a 1345 case. I will be back next weekend, as they will have a different inventory then.
