92 explorer trans problem
got a 92 4wd explorer-started to slip and sometimes just won't move-then it will start to move again
before i take the trans out is there other things i can do to try to correct this problem
if i find that the trans needs to be rebuilt or replaced i am thin king of trying to rebuilt it myself-i really don't need the truck up and running for a while. is this something that you guys recommend that i try or should i leave it to the pros??
thanx in advance for the help!!!

Most mechanical problems are fairly easy to fis and do not require special tools. Basic rebuild with manual will cost about $100. In really bad cases it will cost another $100. Provide the above info and I can give a better idea. Iassume the fluid level is normal and you haven't changed the filter recently.
i am right now in the middle of changing the filter-hope this solves the problem
thank you for your advice!
if this don't fix it i will become tranny rebuilder over night.
the filter also didn't seem "bad" to me but who knows
put the new filter in, loaded up the new fluid, and what do you know-i don't have the slightest slip at all-even this morning being 10 degrees-i think i fixed the problem
THANX FOR THE HELP
