I've read some of the messages about the old fourwheel campers replacemtent top and just wanted to mention a European alternative. Italians have a company that makes the Maggiolina. The US importer is loftyshelters.com It looks just like a fiberglass cargo carrier and mounts to just about any roof rack. When you find a place to park, just put the handle in the side and crank the roof up. It has an aluminum ladder that folds down and the large model has a queen size matress in it. Not as nice as the fourwheel version, but a lot lighter, removable, and available. I have no idea what they run in the states, but it's about $1400 for the Adventure large model here.
