04 Expy kit and harness

04 Expy kit and harness
I just recently traded in my 00 Expy for an 04. I pulled my JVC radio from the 00 and want to of course put it into my 04. Will the kit and harness work in the 04? This will save me about 25-30 bucks.
All installers say it won't, but I'm weary. The size of the opening looks the same, so it looks like the kit will work. I have no clue on the harness.
I just feel if they can make an extra 25-30 bucks they will.
And finally if none of them will work, do you know of any place I can purchase them myself and just simply provide them with it. You know they have to make a profit and will overcharge me for something like that.
