I need to know another place to purchase a new (or used) 7 prong trailer plug with the bracket for my '99 F-350. The truck did not come with one and the dealer wants $125.00 for a new one.
Any suggestions???
thanks

I would go to and RV place, U-Haul, or a towing accesory shop would be a good start. I am sure you look around at like a Fleet Farm they might have the parts. Or go to a junk yard I am sure all the 7 prong fords have the same harness and mounts.
The 7-prong plug is available just about anywhere. WalMart even has them.
The 7-prong RV plug is intended to be used on a trailer that has electric brakes, auxiliary lighting and it's own battery. If you do not have the trailer package already installed in your truck, and you want this level of functionality, you will have to do quite a bit of wiring.
If you want specifics from folk who have done this job before, the Trailer Forum is the place to go for answers.
If I remember right, my '99 only had a 4 prong plug from the factory. But when I got to looking at it, there were all the wires for a 7 prong plug which I bought from a farm store and installed myself.
