Expy Maintenance
My plan is to keep my 04 for many years and many miles. My question is the best way to accomplish my goal. I drive about 35-40 miles per day, some stop and go traffic.
I'm torn with things like using Synthetic or stayng with DINO till after my warranty expires, using fuel injector cleaners every oil change, etc.....
Please weigh in everyone, what has kept your vehicle running smooth for many miles/years? Do you stay with Ford parts, oils, etc... or move in a different direction.
The most miles I've put on a car is 99K and that was a Toyota, so that doesn't count. They run forever, I want my Ford to reach that and many more!!!
I had a long discussion with my service manager during the 1st oil change. This truck comes with a synthetic blend 5w-20 oil. It's the only oil they recommend. They buy it by the drum but I found Motorcraft 5w-20 at an R&S store for 1.89 a bottle.
They told me Car Quest carrys it also.
I always use to use Mobil 1 5w-30 in the past but they don't make a 5w-20, just a 0w-20 they say on the bottle can be used in Fords. I'll stick with the Ford blend until I learn more.
The dealer only charged me $1.10 a quart for the oil change. They are competitive with our local Jiffy Lube.
