Delete, delete, delete. It gives me a way of keeping track of things.I don't know of anything to do other than unsubscribing to the individual forum.

i have 7 email accounts, i have my main personal account which i hardly ever give out and i always make sure it is closed and not open to cookies when i am cruising the web, then i got the account i use for just getting messages from here, which only gets given out to ford people and other web sites requiring email registering, then i got my global yahoo account, which is 99 % junk mail , spam and **** mail crap. i usually check it once a week and just delete the entire folder without having to read anything.

I have 2 email accounts. One is for work, and I give that one to my friends and all important info. The other is a hotmail account and I usually delete most email there without looking at them.

I regularly get so much junk, I abandon the email account. After about a month, it is canceled.

My ISP offers an account with Postini.com that stops junkmail before it gets to me. You can go and see what mail is sorted out and pass on email addresses that you want to be approved and delivered to your inbox. In three or four days, I get anywhere from 300 - 600 junk mails. My inbox gets only a few spammed junk mails, which I copy and insert as an attachment and forward it to postini, who then looks at the mail signatures, etc. and adds it to the blocked senders listings.

I was at the point of just stopping email too, but now and then I get something I actually want to read, from a friend or relative.

Like a red-headed stepchild Otherwise I too would be overrun by spam mail. Currently am down to 5 email accounts, much the same as others, I use them for different purposes. 2 for business and 3 for personal. About once a month I go through the Junk Mail folders and hit the "remove me" link on all the emails. Some work, most don't, but it stems the tide for awhile. On the daily basis, I just read through all the subjects to make sure wanted mail didn't go in there by accident.

If you use the remove me link it will put your address on a thousand junk email lists.

Use an email client like Eudora that has filters included that you can set up.

Get rid of anything MicroSoft that you can.

I have one email account and get maybe 1 or two junk mnails a day, and over 100 from FTE. I use the hotmail for everything, except that they keep restricting the size. Yahoo gives you 6.0Mb, Hotmail gives you 1.5MB

That's not true. I spent about an hour one day and went to all the junk mail and unsubsribed. I get about 2 junkers a day now. It totally took care of it. It WILL NOT add your mail to others lists. They already have it anyway if they wanted to do that. Netscape messenger is the easiest to delete mail in. All you have to do is flag all the unwanted mail without opening them and hit delete once.

Last I checked, Yahoo was only giving 4 MB

Duderoy- Your experience is totally different in that respect that anyone else I have ever heard from.

Replying to remove your name just tells the junk mailers that it is a good and current email address that they can sell to others.

Check with any of the anti spam sites. They will all tell you not to do that.

simple process....

Step one - click button that says "Check All"

Step Two - scroll down page - unclick anything I might wanna read - few and far between

Step 3 - Click delete.

Presto, only the stuff I care about is there. everything else is poofed.
