I have a 2000 F-250 4x4 crew cab with a 7 inch procomp suspension lift and 3.73. I currently have 35x14.50 super swamper SSRs on it. I need to go bigger, maybe a little wider to fill the wheel wells. 38x15.50 are too big, they'd rub offroad. I am thinking about getting 35x16x16.50 boggers. Anybody have any opionions/experience with these? I do alot of on-road driving, so I would only expect to get 25-30k miles. Also looking at the 36x14.50 pirelli jones dirt grip. thanks for any advice.
i am looking at the boggers for my next tire (in the 40" flavor tho).... i have heard most ppl see 10k-15k out of them with a oddball here and there claiming 20k.... i'm banking on seeing 10k out of them and will be happy if i get more.
I have a buddy that had them on his dodge...he claims to have gotten 25k-30k out of his. He works at a garage and says they're his tire of choice...just a little noisy
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 25-Jun-02 AT 03:53 PM (EST)]Boggers are bad a%$ A firend of mine has the 35x16.5x16.5 ones on his Tahoe and he's gotten about 14,000 miles out of them so far and probably has about another 5,000 left. I'd say that the Boggers are good for on avg. between 10k-15k and like Adendx said "an oddball here and there will get 20k or more". It also depends on the truck they are on (i.e. the heavier the truck, the more/faster wear), how the driver drives, and if you tow. The Parnelli Jones are a very cool tire as well and they will probably last you about 25k-30k miles, will be a little quieter, and may ride a little smoother. They will also be more expensive. $292 for the 36/15.5/16.5 Parnelli Jones (a 10 ply tire), $273 for the 16/35/16.5 Boggers (10 ply) or $231 for the 6 ply Bogger. I personally reccomend the 10 ply on a SD.
I've been checking alot of 4x4 websites for prices on boggers. If you're going to get some, check out www.4wheelpartsonline.com They (so far) have the best price beat by $100.00. 4 boggers 35x16x16.5 are $1064.84, to my front door. Lemme know if you find a cheaper place to get them. I called the guys at that place and they said expect to get 15-20k out of them on the asphalt. They mighta just been trying to sell some tires though....
You may want to check around some more. I got my 10 ply 15/39.5/16.5 TLS Swampers for about $1100 from a local Discount Tire including mounting and balancing and free blalncing for the life of the tires. :-X11
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Jun-02 AT 09:41 PM (EST)]best prices i have seen online are usually from [a href=http://www.ntwonline.com]national tire wearhouse[/a]
your 35" boggers are 934 there and if you like 4 wheel parts, they will match the pricing.
