you can go as high as you want but keep in mind that the threshold for just paying for a lift and tires is in the neighborhood of 8". After you cross that point depending on if you have a standerd or extended/crewcab you start getting into the hidden expenses like lengthening your drive shaft, extending your brake lines, hitting the transfercase support brace with the front drive shaft, and our most favorite one of all, pinon angles!
Silver, if you have cash to drop and need a custom vehicle that can whoop *** in all terrain, than leaf sprung suspension is not the answer.. you need to have a reputable 4x4 shop set you up running 4 links setups to the front and rear suspended by King coils and shocks.... the shocks alone run about $2500 a wheel, but well worth it.. I have a friend who runs a 01 Chev 1500 on this setup and he can land 4' of air no problem.. doesnt drive real well on highways and such cause of massive body roll, and could not even haul a quad in the back due to massive sag.. but it was strictly built for mud bogs and rock crawls, and it can do that with the best of them. That is the best suspension you could run on a Superduty, or any 4x4 for that matter.. If you can afford it, that is the way to go. check out kingshocks.com for some examples of there setups, they are by far the superior setup in the desert racing scene, and they earned it. As for height.. you could get away with small lift with leaf springs but with the coils you will have massive travel, which will dictate that you will need a little more lift and will still need to cut out all the fender wells.

I have Kings and I love them but there are some issues to be dealt with there too. If you want a bad*** suspenshun then you ought to check out the chevy pre-runner in the Feb(I think) Off-Road. Pretty dang cool. What are you trying to accomplish here silver? I have a hard time responding to this thread because it just begs for my sarcastic posts. If you have an end in mind you would sure help us. What do you want to DO with your truck?
silver.. don't start this again.. You lost everyone's respect last time you tried going down this road.. Why don't you just pull up your old thread to see what you ought to do.
Well said. It's not that we don't want to help you, but respect, unfortunately, is hard earned and can be pissed away quite easily if caution is not exercised.
