message center for center console
Hey guys, I have a 98 ford explorer xlt and was thinking about putting in a message center. Has anyone else done this and if so, is the wiring difficult to do. Any advise would be great.

Well thanks for the advice...I work for a company which i use my vehicle and put about 250-300 miles a day and always monitoring my gas mileage and also need a reminder when to change my oil and such. I guess I would assume that you have to tap into various wires for it to work properly. If its that involved then I would rather have someone else do it. Im more of a motor man myself not much of an electrical guru.

From what I've read, studying the wiring schematics takes the longest time. Also, running and splicing the wires also takes a long time. In addition, you need to buy two extra sensors.
So here's my advice if you still want to move on. Get the Ford's shop manual on CD from Ebay and study everything that you have to know about the message center. Good luck!
