Torbo Wastegate
I have a 98 E350 cubevan with a turbo powerstroke diesel. I live in Canada and the temps have been down right cold. I left work the other day and drove slowly down the road to let truck warm up to operating temp. While i was diong this it sound like the wastegate opened and was bleeding off the intake pressure. Wel when i hit the throttle to go a few seconds later the darn waste kept opening when the truck hit around 15 miles an hour. The truck would bog and blow black smoke like you wouldn't believe. After this happened several times i pulled over and shut the truck off. After a couple oe secnds i fired it back up and everything was fine. Whats the deal. Anyone had this trouble before. Don't know much about diesels yet and was hoping someone might know a thing or two. Thanks for any help Lance!
