Lightbulb The Budget Buster

I am writing about my last project, a 63 F-100 with Mustang II front suspension. While wanting some mileage out of the truck with horsepower (every mans want) I did some research and learned of the Cleavor. This was a neat experience. I can tell you that for the money, this was one awesome motor. A scat .385 crank pushing 9.7:1 pistons and 2V Cleveland heads. Much, much cheaper than Edelbroks aluminum heads. A website that i found very helpful was this http://www.themustangshop.com/clevor.cfm check it out, you'd be suprised of the dollar per hp on this engine.

The Cleveland heads may flow almost as much as the aftermarket but the ports are much larger also. This means lower port velocity and worse fuel atomization. Take a look at www.powerheads.com if you get a chance. They do good work and are pretty cheap. They have ported windsor and cleveland heads.
