Gear change

just wondering I currently have a 3.55 LS Differential if i change to a 3.73 LS will a notice a diff. in acceleration or will i have to step up to a 4.11 for that. Thanks

i think you would need 4.11 for a big difference but i don't like lower gears for a couple of reasons. Uses too much gas, and wears the engine faster.

I agree with fordeverpower, the difference between 3.55 and 3.73 with not be noticable with the buttometer, although 4.11's will be, if you are talking about the truck in our sig, the FE series are more of the low end type engine, like any other big block. I would stay with 3.55's, but if you want more low end grunt, get a 4x4 cam, made my 390 a torque monster.

put a set of 389 to get a between the 373 and 411.
