Brake Booster

Hi. We replaced the brake booster two mouths ago and now it has gone bad agin. When i pulled the vacume line off i fined a small trace of gas, i am woundering if this causing the booster to go bad ? and why is there fuel in this hose ? This is a 1990 2.9 v6 automatic.

Welcome to FTE!!!

The gas could be the cause, the source is probably a leaking fuel pressure regulator. Pull that FPR vacuum line and check for gas, gas=bad, they connect at the same T.

Thanks for the fast reply , i went out and pulled the vacume line off and it had gas in it, this would be the reason she (my daughter) has a hard time starting it and bad gas mileage too.

Nothing like an unmetered source of fuel to make the thing run rich, good luck with the truck Ralph.

Just thought of something else, check the oil for gas, sometimes it drains down into the cylinders and past the rings, I'm sure you don't want that in the crankcase.
