tranny change out
hi all,
this is my first post here so bear with me.
i've got an 87 f250 with the 6.9 and c6, 2wd.
the trans is just about gone on it and needs a new one.
the problem is this. the truck has 300,000 miles on it, and even though it still runs good, i hate to spend the $1100
that they want to rebuild it. the only thing i tow with the truck is my big butt, so strength is not an issue. i was wondering if a c6 and convertor from a 351 m or 460 would bolt up to the 6.9? i dont mind spending the money, but i hate to pay the 1100 and have the motor go out right after. i can get a gas tranny alot cheaper. thanks for the help in advance. dave.
