Engine block heater
Hi all great site. I was looking for a site like this forever. Just wondering if anybody has an engine heater in the 02-04 explorer with the 4.0 V6. Did anybody have one installed after the bought the truck. I was thinking about it. I live in Jersey and it still gets pretty cold up here in the winter.

I have one in my 97 4L and this winter in CT is works great, nice to get in a pre-warmed vehicle plus betters drivability especially in the single digits as were constantly experiencing.
I installed it myself, was quite easy.

Engine block heater.
How hard was it to put in. Did it take a long time to do it. Could you e-mail me at JForest2@optonline.net. with the way you did it. Thanks for the help.

I thought it was rather easy....tap the exisiting freeze plug to dislodge it, then remove. Put the heater in and snug the screw.
(Drain the coolant first though)
then run the cord to the front bumper.....
I will never buy a vehicle without it now that I am spoiled.
