Question Block Heater

I've got an 02 7.3 and it's been pretty cold lately here in mi. This is the third winter on this truck with 73,000 mi. and I have never needed to plug it in until now because she seems to be having a rough time firing up when it's real cold. (under 10) But I can't locate the plug for the block heater? I know the book shows behind the drivers side driving light but I have a front license plate bracket and can't reach in there to feel for it. What do I need to do? Thanks

If you bought the truck new, and have never used the block heater, it's probably still wrapped up and mounted up by the frame. You'd probably have to get on your back and look up behind the bumper, on one side of the other of the frame to find it. Mine was tough enough to find, and I bought mine used.

crawl underneath , find the block heater over near the oil filter housing, follow the wire and go from there. I dont know why but some of the factories put them under the battery box, some behind the tow hook, some inside the grille. What can we say??
