I have a 2001 250 superduty v-10 and all of the superdutys have that horizontal shock (Steering stabalizer?) on the front suspention. Which I dont. Do I need it and whould it improve the steering? Also where can I get one(besides dealer) and how much? I asked the dealer and he said I don't need it and I wouldn't feel the difference. Thanks for any info
im pretty sure the steering stablizers only come on trucks with camper package and/or 4x4 package...if u dont have one or the other u dont need it unless u get bigger tires later on. but if u still want one u can buy one from any 4x4 shops like 4wheel parts wholesalers .
They seem to make a difference when you hit bumps in the road, especially when making turns...
I just replace my stock stablizer with a factory replacement, it was totaly dead @ 50,000mi. Ford charged me $55 for the stabilizer, so its cheaper than converting to aftermarket (if you had one stock) ...
I have a '99 F250 SD, after complaining to the Dealer about it wandering on the road, they realigned the front end and installed the steering stabalizer at no charge. He said Ford had a bulletin out on it and would install it only if they recieved such a complaint.
