The engine block is on the stand and I wanted to bolt the engine mounts onto it. they are labeled left & right so that's easy enough, but the bolt that goes through the mount on the frame is offset in one direction.
Is this bolt offset towards the rear or the front of the motor, and is it the same for both the left & right side?
BB is correct,
the stud that comes out of the rubber mount is forward of the bolts that retain it to the block. regardless of the size of the mount... interesting, mine are the same size also... hmm.
I have the same question: I have a '72 Ford F100 and i am installing engine tomorrow. Someone said offset to the front. What is "offset"? Offset is greater distance from center bolt to edge of mount? Does the metal shield go toward the front?

The mount stud in the bottom isn't centered under the top.

I know the mount stud isnt centered, but does the wider space from stud to end go to the front or to the rear?
