I just put on a 50 series Flow Master muffler....sounds like a indy car reving...I think it shifts at a higher RPM now...near 3000
The 40 series was too noisy for me....I really like the 50 series.
As far as tech stuff, I just think it feels like it breaths easier...maybe wishfull thinking...
but the bottom line is I love it..

I've had the 40 series on for a year and a half now. I like the sound, but I don't remember any difference in power, and there was no difference in mileage. I would not worry about airflow issues.
