distributor problems

hello everyone,
well it turns out it was the distributor, we opened it up and the rotor was in pieces so we replaced the rotor and cap and drove it and it still made the funky noise I explained before. I was able to pull over and put my hand on the distributor and it was the source of the noies, my Dad seems to think the bearings may be going out on the distrib. The noise stops once the engine is warm. The distrib. has very little play in it. should I go ahead and replace it or what.

Hey there, Well we found out the whole distreib had gone bad. It was causing a vibration and noise so I replaced the whole distributor and she is runing like a charm and the vibration is gone. apparently the bearings inside the old distrib had gone bad and were binding up. Hope this helps.
