Hi guys, I have a 1990 Bronco. I just spent a ton of money re-doing the interior. Really, it looks great, but i dont like the style of the interiors in the 87-91 trucks.
My idea is to swap out my current interior for a 92-96 interior. I know that the seats from the 92-96 will fit. My question is... will the door panels, entire dashboard (including using the instrument cluster from the 92-96) all bolt right up without modifications.
I would greatly appreciate any help!! I;m only going to redo this interior once more!!!
I thought about looking into this also. The main problem would be the wiring. All of the connectors would be different and the way the AC/Heat controls work is different. When automakers change the interiors like that they use different mounting points, etc. Best way to find out would be to compare the electrical schematics from the different models. Since the structure would all be the same you might have to drill holes for the mounting points but it would fit.
WHat I saw as far as mounting points what a guy did that ai worked with, he took the entire framing from a 91 ford P/U and put it into a 60 something Ford P/U. By installing the framwork for the interior dash, he was able to use the newer parts and they mounted right up. Just need to check to make sure that the cab dimensions are the same.
The door panels fit just the same. Only thing is you'll have to cut the plug connectors with a good 6" of wire left on them out of the donor truck for the window/ lock switches and splice them in.
