wont shift when cold

my freind has a 1993 ranger 3.0 leater auto it wont shift in to first when it is cold. the fluid is full. it wont shift in drive or first.

Try doing a transmission fliud & filter change to see if that helps.

mine did that the other day it refused to go into drive i was told due to the temperature change and having been through a few puddles and all it was prolly frozen its been fine since hope you had the same luck
