More on mirrors

Today I was cruising down the highway and a little over 115 kms and past 3 other superduties pulling ginormus fivers. What is so different or worthy of coment is the fact that their mirrors apeared to stick out further than mine. Mine pull out two inches theirs were 3 or 4. Looked like they had California plates.
Anyone have any ideas on what I saw? Were they maybe 450s or something? California seems to get all the good stuff first, maybe it's something new on the market.
Thoughts.

My mirrors have 2" of slider showing when in and 5" showing when extended. Not sure if they have others that extend further.

Duuuhoh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First you pull on the mirror to get it to come out! If you just think you did you make yourself look like an a$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
For some reason I had it in my brain that they were out all the way when they weren't. Now almost a year after getting the truck I know how the mirrors work . I don't know what I'm going to tell my other friends.
I guess I just had to see them stuck out to know the difference.
You all tried to help me before. And I thankyou. Some people are just unhelpable.

Instead of admitting that you didn't know how to work the mirrors, just tell your friends that you got some new ones!

You'll love the "new" extended view.
