The bushing on the striker pin for the sliding door broke apart and the door nows makes a small shrieking noise when it latches. I tried removing the striker pin but the thing is stuck and won't budge. It even twisted my torx bit. I did not think that there is a locking nut on the other side of the door jam because I saw the replacement at the parts store and it did not look like it uses a nut. Can someone suggest a way to loosen this think so I can remove it?

I think you need a better set of Torx bit. I ended up buying an entire Crafstman set after twisting so many of these cheapies. I hope you haven't stripped the bolt head! The striker is just bolted on. It should come out relatively easily. At least mine did.
copper,
Thanks for the tip. I will try again, this time I spray some lubricant and let it settle for awhile. I don't think I damaged the pin itself but if I did so be it. I can grip the head with a vise and go that route. Thanks again.

if you have room clamp a visegrip on to it if it is already shot plus your torx bit and give it a crank it might take three hands. Ihave had the problem befroe but not on that door.
