Trailer Weight Rating???

I've built a car hauling trailer that I need to register here in Ontario Canada, when I do this how do I determine what weight it's able to carry or whatever weight info I need in order to register it. Can I asssume correctly that you total the carry ability of the axles which in this case these are 3500.00 lb each - minus the weight of the trailer itself?? Thanks.

Usually vehicles are licensed for Gross Weight Rating. So in your case the vehicle license registry would use the combination of the gross axle rating, or 7000#. They may need the unladen weight or Tare Weight to determine the ammount of registration fees to charge you.

Thanks for joining us in the Towing forum and welcome to FTE
Please feel free to share any experiences you had building your trailer and photographs of contruction and final product.
