Tires

A few weeks ago I bought a '99 F250. The tires on it are VERY worn and I want to put new ones on it. This past weekend I put a leveler kit to even out the stance and allow for 35's. I have done some of my own research and found that BFG A/T seem to be a good bet for tires. I am looking for ANY suggestions for a new set of 35's. I am not completely sold on the BFG's but I am leaning towards them. PLEASE help. Thanks -John

I live in the Northwest and I have read that the mud terrains are not good on wet pavement due to the lack of siping. Is there any truth to this?

Ahh, another Northwesterner (is that a word?) I am 3600 miles on my AT's and am very happy with them. I go to the beach a couple times a month and they do great in the sand. I'm told they do awsome in the snow. They have worked very well on wet pavement for me. Now I can only smoke them through third gear on wet pavement I here that they arn't to good in the mud though. I guess they don't clean out quick enough. If your near the valley in Oregon sometime you could stop by and check them out on a truck.

I run the BFG MT KO'S and like them, I do mostly streeet driving but have had them in the muck and they dug out no problem.
I have had no problems with them on wet roads either.
If they made a 38"-39" I would put them on next spring when I go bigger on the lift.

Hey Yeti what do you plan on doin with the lift you have? I would be intrested in purchasing it from you if you are going to sell it. 2.5" just don't look big enough for me no more.

Hey Justin,

Actually I'm just sticking a 3" body lift in it and keeping the 6" suspension I got now. I can't really go any bigger with the suspension because of my snow plow needing to touch the ground and people get mad when I clean thier awnings of thier houses with my roof.

I most likely will sell the tires, they will have about 3,000 miles on them when I take them off in the fall.

PSD_Power,

I got dibs on that levelling kit if you go for a bigger lift

Which kit is it? I've been looking at the 2.5" BDS kit because it allows you to keep the stock springs, and therefore the stock ride. I put a spring lift in Jeep J10 once, looked good, but it WAS NOT driveable. I hit my head on the roof so many times I was developing a flat spot.

I know the reason behind the nose down stance, but that doesn't mean I have to like it

Waxy-
This last weekend I put in a Tuff country Leveling kit. It allows you to keep the original springs and the ride does not seem to have been affected. I got it over the internet for $259. Let me know if you are interested and I will get you the information. -John

Waxy,
This is the lift that I put on my truck. Let me know if you buy a kit.....I can give you some pointers that might save you a lot of time.

Big_Blue1,

Are you sure that's the right link?

That's a Jackit kit that uses a new spring pack, I thought you said yours was a Tuff Country and used the stock springs?

Let me know,

Waxy

Jack it is the company that sells it but Tuff country is the manufacturer. It includes a set of new leafs, but they bolt on to the existing leafs that are on your truck now. The new leafs do NOT bolt directly to the frame brackets. This might not be exactly what you are looking for but check it out anyway. Boy, I sound like a salesmen huh

Waxy, I have the same lift as bigblue. It adds five more leaves to your spring pack. I like the ride though. My dad that has a 2000 F-350 dosn't like it though. little more "bouncy" in the front. at stop sighns it kind of rocks a little on the front end. Its hard to describe. If I find a good deal on a bigger lift I will send you an e-mail.
