Runnin' bad....
I just picked up a '91 Explorer with 4.3 (?) V6. It had already had a major tune-up, but it's still runnin' bad. In park, if you hit the throttle it'll cough & fart before it comes up in revs. If you open throttle slowly, it'll sound OK till you hit it then it it'll suck for air & make some sick moises but not much for rpm increase. Any ideas?? Thanks, folks

Check fuel pressure. Possibly the fuel pump/pressure regulator are not keeping up with the demand at WOT.
I'd also run the EEC-IV diagnostic tests to see if the PCm sees any problems.
Just a couple of standard first things to check tests.
