new wheels
Hello Everyone, I have a few questions about wheels. I have a '98 4x4 with the offroad package. I want to buy some new wheels and tires. I was wondering what is the bolt pattern on these trucks and what backspacing should I go with? The truck is at stock height now, but I plan on adding a 3" body lift and possibly tring to get 1.5" out of cranking the torsion bars and some 1.5" or 2" blocks in the rear. I want wheels that I can put some 265\75\16s on now, but upgrade to larger tires later on. I am thinking about 33x12.5 equivalents or something like that. I appreceate any suggestions you guys may have.

I went with 31X10.5's on a 15x8" wheel. The wheels are eagle alloy series 101. I had Interco Truxxus MT's originally, but recently switched over to Cooper Discoverer STT's. I loved the Interco's, they got me through mud, sand, snow, gravel, and had great highway manners. My off roading has slowed down a lot and my Coopers have only seen the street and a little mud so far. They are better street tires, and go through snow and slush pretty well. Someday I'll get back out to a good mud hole and give them a real test though. I actually hated the stock tire/wheel combo. The three spoke steel wheels are the ugliest things I have ever seen on a vehicle from the factory. The stock tires were ok, but looked puny with the big factory fender flares. I still put them on from time to time for road trips and the like. Compared to the 31's they suck in the rain, cornering, and feel. The extra traction and stiffer sidewall's of the bigger tires makes this truck better on and off road. I'll have M/T's on here until one of us dies!
