coolant addatives???
I have a 95 F350 PSD with about 82,000 miles on 'er. I have seen a lot of discussion about addatives for the coolant in the forum and I'm stumped. I'm kinda new to the PSD's, why is it neccessary to put them in the coolant? Also is there a specific coolant formulated for diesels. Heck while I'm at it... what's the benefit to having the used oil checked? Thanks for the help as always.

I am also new to the world of PSD, but I have been reading this forum for a while. The coolant additive is to keep the antifreeze from cavitating, causing internal damage to your cylinder walls. I have seen coolant for diesels for sale at Tractor Supply and I also know that Catipillar has a product. I think I got it right. Good luck. Bentonmike
