Transmission temp

I installed a trans temp gauge and took the 28' fver to a softball tournament this past weekend. It was about 85 degrees ( thats damn hot for northern minnesota) and the trans guage read about 165 degrees. Does that sound okay?. I dont have a baseline to go by but without the f'ver hooked up it reads about 110.

Thanks guys...........

Sounds perfectly normal. I hit 165 in stop and go traffic unloaded. Towing in the summer heat only goes to about 175. As long as you're under 225 or so you're ok.

I run between 125 and 150 (max so far) unloaded. Haven't put the 28' Terry behind it yet.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Jul-02 AT 00:39 AM (EST)]Yep,
I am assuming you want it for a ford , there other truck installs over there. I bought the kit from the diesel guys and it plugs right in just as Dick's article describes. The only improvement I would add is where to get the 12V run source, I have a post here on the best way to get it, and posted an update on the diesel website but it won't be published for a while, so look here.
