Question What should I do?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and was just wondering if I could ask yall a couple of questions?
I have a 2004 Ford F-150 Bright Red Supercrew Lariat and has not given me any problems since the first day I got it (and hopefully it never will). I also got the new 5.4L 3V Triton V8. It was a little slow at first but then with more mileage, the engine grew stronger(feels like it anyway) and the truck that weighs as much as an Expy ( for those of you who didn't know) is getting me 14MPG in the city, and about 20 on the highway.
Well anyway, my wife is jealous and hates her 2002 Ford Explorer XLT and now she wants an Expedition. Except that with all the problems I've been hearing the the new Expediton has, I'm kinda scared to get one. So here are my questions:
1. Do you think I should get an Expedtion even though it has all those problems and pray to God that if I get one, I'll never have these problems?
2. Or, Do you think that I should wait for a 2005 model with the 5.4L 3V Triton(which is worth every penny, take it form me) and see if they have all the problems fixed on the Expy?
What do you think I should do, I like the Expedition ALOT, Except that with all the problems it's been having, I just don't know, please help me make a decision.

Thanks for your help.

I'm on my second Exp...a '99 4x4...which we were thinking of trading in for a 2003...however, after reading the problems that are happening we're going to hold off for a year at least and see what happens.

I'd wait for the 2005 if I was you...or buy a used (insert older than 2003 here) EB Exp for her...

I'd never buy a "first-year" production model....too many unproven re-engineered items. With that said, you should be safe if you buy a 2004 Expy. The 3V 5.4L sounds great, however, if your wife doesn't need the extra power for towing or the like, then the standard 5.4L should do the trick....always has for me.

Pleasing the wife is more important than money. If she can wait until 2005, do so. If not don't.

I have a first year of production model (May 1997) and it's been reasonably trouble free. Since it is I"m waiting until 2007 or 250,000 miles whichever comes first.

Thanks for the replies, I'm starting to think that maybe we should go check out the Expedition, it's just that all my family except are a little big, so I don't know how the motor will do.
The 5.4L in my truck does very well, I can actually feel my 300 ponies now!!!!! Only problem is that, this truck is so smooth that when I look out the window, I see traffic moving slower than I am, then I look at at my speedodmeter and I'm going 80 MPH!!!! I'm surprise the cops didn't catch me, and since this truck is BRIGHT Red, it's gonna be a bigger target. All in all, this 5.4L Triton V8 can haul this truck as if it were a Ford Focus, Must be the same for the Expedition when it comes out since the Supercrew and the Expedition are only like 50lbs. apart. Oh and did I tell you, I did 0-60 in 8.89 seconds from a dead stop. Now that tells you somethin.

Have a good day,
Freddy Rodriguez
