I have been lurking for several months, and have used much of the info here to decide on my new truck. I called the dealer today and found that my 03 will be built on August 12. I won't be doing any mods too soon as I'll be completely broke. I'd like loud pipes but I'm concerned about the warranty. I wonder why a nice grumbly sounding exhaust isn't an available option?

Inform you dealer that you'd to swap out the stock muffler for something with a better sound. See if he would give you any warranty hassles for anything that WOULD NOT be related to the swap. If your servicing dealer is cool with it then I'd go ahead. I know if I were a dealer, I wouldn't care about a simple muffler swap.
