Having a major issue with my 97 Explorer's manual tranny. It will not go into gear unless the engine is shut off. I noticed an audible click noise when depressing the clutch pedal and the pedal seems unnecessarily soft. This has happened "overnight" as the last time I drove it it the clutch pedal was giving good resistance, for lack of a better term. Could someone here give me a couple suggestions of what might be the problem? Thanks in advance.
Also, the clutch and master slave cylinder were replaced roughly 2 years ago at the dealership.
Try just removing the cap and strainer on the clutch fluid reservoir. Ensure fluid is full. Then try to pump up the peddle. See if you can get pressure that way. I talked with a guy that said he had to do that every once in a while. I think he had a vent problem in his cap and it would kinda "vapor lock".
