slow to idle down
I am a new user of this site, I have a 94 f150, with 5.0L manual trans, recently I replaced the oil pan gasket and had to remove the upper intake to do so. Since then my engine speed is very slow to come down after a shift, and the idle is a little higher than before. I cleaned the throttle plate and the IAC motor at the same time. Any ideas?

Sounds like a vacuum leak from the upper intake gasket if you recently changed it. Since you have speed-density EFI, the computer is trying to compensate, but is a little slow to respond.
Another possible issue is the IAC. The '94 is not supposed to be cleanable, but that may just be the service manual being too conservative.

Thanks for the reply. I have already checked for air leaks with the parts cleaner spray can method and no change in engine speed. Any other ideas for checking for air leaks?I have also already cleaned the throttle plate and the IAC when I had the upper intake off. I had a sticky gas pedal.
