Do all the steering boxes you listed need to modify to mount in?
Do any of them mount the same as the stock manual box?
Wich box seems to work best IYO?
Most of them require some modifications to bolt up. From drilling and sleeving an extra hole, to adding a bracket on the bottom of the frame.
Some of them need some linkage modifications, both from the steering column and the steering linkage itself.
And custom hoses for the hydraulics. Some use a special parts store application, while others require a custom hose to be made.
I've driven both the Ford boxes, the Scout II, Lincoln, and the Toyota box.
I wouldn't recommend the 2wd box to anyone. The Lincoln had a very quick ratio could be difficult to control at times. The Toyota box gave me the best road feel, but it doesn't have the assist that some of the others do. I didn't have much seat time with the modified 4x4 box, but it seemed to have the best feel of all of them.
