a/c help please give input

I have a bronco 2 88 i just bought a compressor off some guy on ebay. what kinda gas do i fill it with. i hear u cant use the new gas 143a. and they dont sell freon R-12. ive heard that other gases work. what have you guys done? please give any input on your current Air conditioning.some guy talked about propain ?

Yes you can use 134A with any auto A/C comp. You should also change the compressor oil before installing.
I have retrofitted many R-12 systems to 134A without any problems.

also keep in mind that when you retrofit to R134A you use 80% of the system's charge capacity, and the correct oil in the system that's compatible. R-12 is also still available, just costs more and you have to be licensed to purchase it (unless you can find someone who has the old 12/16 oz. cannisters that would sell it to you)

If you were close I could help you out with R-12, I have a 60# tank of it but you will be fine with 134A.

Hmmmm NJ is not too far from Long Island hahahah good to know.. I'll have to recharge my system in the spring... the clutch spins occasionally this is telling me that the system is very low...
