shifting problem

i've got a '70 f-100 with a mirrored 105 390 block. my tranny is a c-6 and doesn't want 2 shift up from 2nd to 3rd. it has no problem shifting from 2nd to 1st, and no problem in reverse. could this have something to do with the govr on the tranny?
please help the quicker this problem is fixed, the quicker i can get it registered! and the quicker i can send u photos of the complete restoration i did on this truck. that includes completely ripping out and fabricating (from scratch with no idea how it works) an electrical wiring harness, converting colum shift auto 3-speed 2 a floor shifter, installing power steering and copleteing a 360 to a 390 engine swap for under $300!

but the question is the same wher is my shift problem?
the tranny was rebuilt 100 miles or less before my points in the 360 completeley melted into a metal ball inside the dist. so the tranny is brand new

p.s. all the info i needed 2 do this was right here in the forums so thanks to everybody who has ever written 2 or for FTE

try checking your linkages, mine was having trouble sticking going from 3rd to 1st if i did it to fast and i'd have to be a little aggresive with it to go back with the program.

Since it is a C-6, check that you have vacuum to the modulator. Look for cracked fittings and hoses and loose or plugged hoses.
You may also need to ensure it is going into the 3rd detent, which is 3rd gear. DO THIS WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING! Or, with someone on the brakes. Be safe!

it feels like it's going into 3rd. I've ran through the gears without the engine running so many times do to the shift control levers dont exactly match up w/my new floor shifter considering it's out of a '92 ford t-bird that had an auto 3-speed C-6. so i've welded me up a new linkage 2 fit.
i'll definitley pay closer attention 2 that tomorrow when i can finish it up.

i've just started taking some basic photos today, and i'll try to get them up online asap!

dual exhaust 2 3/4 inch out the bumper

I t's not the the linkage. i just got done fabricating a new linkage rod 2 fit in w/my new floor shiftr, while it was being designed i had the tranny plate,( that covers the top of the tranny that's on your floorboard inside the truck.)off and i would test drive it and shift it w/my hand through the floorboard, so i got 2 try out jiggiling the control lever and it still would not shift up from 2nd to 3rd gear. everything else is fine!
