See if it's blowing out of the defrost vents when that happens. If so, your vacuum accumulator or the vacuum line going to it is leaking. The accumulator supplies vacuum during periods of low engine vacuum such as when you're accelerating. The accumulator is a black plastic ball under the hood with a vacuum line going to it. There is a check valve involved in there somewhere that could be bad and cause that problem.

that might be a normal thing because when you are idleing that compressor is turning makeing the freon gas at a lower pressure but when you speed up the compressor turns faster makeing the freon less presure and causeing the low presure switch to kill out shuting the compresor off or you could be low on freon causeing this too because my car had te same problem but brought it to a ac place and they said that was normal what i had said you may not understand but if you put a specail pressure gauge on that ac system you will see what i mean

low rpm= high presure on low side

high rpm=low presure on low side = ac compressor shuting off by kill switch

Sport98 said it stops blowing, not that the air changes temperature. Sounds like you're describing a different symptom, there, jclj2003.
