TURBO Problems
I have a 2004 PSD 6.0 and am having Turbo problems. I think that the waste gate is hung open. While the truck is at idle you can hear air hissing as if there is a vaccum/boost leak. Anyone help? Truck has 4500 Miles and is going to dealership in a week thats the closest appointment.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be a leak in the drivers side of the y-pipe coming off the back of the turbo. The tech is a close personal friend of mine. He fixed it yesterday and said it was a real pain to get to. Ended up removing trans and transfer to accomplish.

guys its definitly the y pipe mine sounded the same way with all the symptoms. i did the replacement myself in about 4 hours in the driveway. yea real pain but i didn't have to take out the trans or any other parts exept the down pipe.
