5.4 headgasket?

5.4 headgasket?
My wife took the F250 to S. Carolina on business.She checked the oil when she got there and said it was way over full.When it left it was half way between ADD and full.Dealer oil change about 500 miles ago.Truck is a 2002 F250 5.4 with about 4500 miles on it. What do you think?

Maybe when you checked it, the oil hadn't had time to settle back into the oil pan. My advise is to change it yourself so you don't have to worry if they put too much oil in. We all know how extremely competent the dealers are.

Dear Mr. Gearhead, I really needed a smart *** answer like yours. You should work at a dealership to give an answer like that. I guess after 35 years of driving,70 between the two of us we don't have a clue as to how to check or change the oil. Thanks for the help.

Rattler, Rattler, Rattler.... As time goes on, you'll see that alot of responses are "tongue and cheek".
Warmdye meant no ill-will towards you or your wife. In fact, Warmdye has given alot of excellent advice.
We all are willing to help and, you'll find with time, that this is the best source to find answers to problems.
That being said, Did you wife mention that the oil was discolored at all or if the performance of the vehicle suffered at all on the trip?
If she did, I'd say yes it's very possibly a head gasket.
If not, I dont where the extra fluid would come from...
