Changing Motors
If there is a good motor out ther why don't they just keep it and update that one instead of switching to a totally new one?
Seems to me it just opens a whole new can of worms.

Why does FMC keep changing motors?

I, too, wish there were no problems with new motors (mine, BTW, works great!) but such can not be in any human endevor. I'm sure there was a time the 7.3 ltr was new and had its share of bugs.

I had the 7.3 for 2 years and did not have 1 problem with it. The only reason I got rid of it was because it was a regular 350 p/u
8ft bed. I needed the dump body for more room.
I thought the 6.0 was the way to go
Just got the recall and reflash done and the thing can barely get out of its own way.
The only way to describe it is:
on acceleration it is like having your foot on the clutch and only letting it out half way and riding the clutch. The rpm's go up ,but the truck isn't catching up.
The truck is a automatic 5 speed!!
Hope you know what I mean by what it is doing, other than that the reflash helped on the rough high rpm startup and it shifts smoother. Plus it doesn't choke me out on cold startups anymore
