squeeky door latch
I have a 2000 extra cab, and the latch that holds the main door to the suicide extra cap door is squeeking like crazy, and it's driving me crazy. Is there a way to fix or should I just replace the latch and catch assembly right for the get go? Any suggestions would be appreciated. The previous owner was fairly tough on the truck and this is the drivers side door.

Not sure if this is your issue, but I had what sounds like a similar squeak. This happened whenever the top part of the suicide door did not get shut all the way and latch. It takes a pretty firm slam to get it to lock in good.
