4.0 Stalling when cold???
(update) I also just put in a new thermostat (192 degree) so that shouldnt be the problem. I used to think the problem was related to the amount of fuel in the tank (less fuel = more problem) but I have recently determined that's NOT the case. If I slooowwly ease into the gas it will do OK, but if I give it any serious gas, it will stall.
Any ideas???
2)check the ACT sensor.. (air temp coming in)
3)checkt the CTS (coolant temp)
4)(i lied0 check the IAC for being sticky
and 5) Most likely: the O-rings between the parts of the intake are hardened, and only seal up when the engine has warmed up. There are an upper set and a lower set. Do both. I think there may be a TSB, but I don't own one, so didn't check. It is cheap, relatively.

Where is the ACT and what is the IAC???
I've disconnected the MAF and that didn't do much.
O-rings, do you mean the rings at both ends of the plastic intake snorkel? Those seem to be in good shape. No serious hardening.
Thanks.
Thanks for the help...
The ACT will be a screw-in to the intake manifold with 2(i think) wires going to it. If you pull it out, it will have a loop of metal protecting a probe down in the middle. It is a temp-variable resistor. It in effect simulates the bi-metal on old carb chokes. Cold, add more fuel, Warm, don't need so much. With the TX temps, and your symptoms, it's probably OK, as it has more effect in northern climes.
