Relocate power steering cooler
The replacement part has squeeze clamps on both ends of the new hoses (the cooler side and the line side). To get the repair done I just used the old hoses and cut an inch off each to get them to seal on the new cooler. But I would like to relocate the cooler to a less dumb place and that will require longer lines.
My Problem is that the stock hoses have some kind of crimped metal jacket where a squeeze clamp would go and I can't get it off to replace the lines with a longer ones. Has anyone been succesful at getting these off? Do I need to go to a machine shop? replace the metal line from the pwr steering pump? Just yank hard? cut them off? not sure what to do here. Thanks for any input.

I am pretty sure its the power steering cooler cuz after it leaked the powersteering fluid container was empty and I could not turn the truck... not to metion the nasty whining noise it was making... oooo not good.
Ever try to drive a 3/4 ton truck with no power steering fluid?
no fun at all. I could drive about 1 mile then I had to stop and add more fluid. 3 quarts later I reached my destination... :/ 99 F250SD EC 5.4L 3.73 285 BFG/ATs...
