fuel pump

my fuel pump stsrted to hum of late.works fine ,but was wondering if that could increase fuel consumption.maybe its losing pressure or something.thanks for any help

I have a 93 F-150 and both my fuel pumps hum maybe they need to have the wires cleaned inside the tank. I also have a problem with my sending unit not telling me how much gas I have in my tank. I have to try that with mine. I'll let you know how it works for me.
