No 4x4
I have a 79 bronco with a 400 in it and an automatic, when you put it in 4wd, you can hear it when you shift the transfer case, and the drive shaft that comes out of the transfer case to the front axle spins, but no 4wd......any ideas please? bad hub maybe?

If the front driveshaft spins it's most likely the hubs. Are they automatic or manual? What kind of axle do you have up front? If it's open knuckle you should be able to see the axle's turn as well.

I have the same problem but the hubs are new (less than 200 miles). I once read something about a vacuum pump to engage the hubs. Where are other weak or likely spots for having this problem?
